Video: Revelation Trumpets within Daniel's Week
Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3 AKJV)
The Apostle John was confined to an island by the leaders of his time and wrote the Book of Revelation during his confinement. It begins with a blessing for those who hear and “keep” the things written within this book. The Greek word tereo translated “keep” means to “attend to carefully.” By studying the Book of Revelation you are doing that.
The Question
The question has been asked: When will the Revelation Trumpets begin to sound? We don’t yet know a date for any, except for one… maybe. What we can do is look what the trumpets mean, and at the seals and see how the trumpets will affect them because the seventh seal contains seven trumpets.
And when He had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in Heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. (Revelation 8:1-2 AKJV)
There will be a brief pause between the breaking of the seventh seal and the trumpets. This indicates a period of time where nothing is occurring on Earth. Since a “day is like a thousand years,” the 30 minutes could be weeks or years. We will look for more clues as we continue studying Revelation. From our prior study, we know:
Seals 1-3 must happen before Daniel’s Week begins
Seals 4-5 will most likely happen before it begins
The sixth seal is where Satan is kicked down to the Earth with all his minions.
This will happen after the temple is built in Jerusalem.
It creates worldwide earthquakes.
Many volcanoes in the Ring of Fire may go off.
There were three basic options for when the seals will break:
The final seals break somewhere in the middle of the first half of Daniel’s Week after the temple is built and before the Two Witnesses are killed in Jerusalem.
The final seals break at the beginning of Daniel’s Week as the temple is being built.
The final seals break right at the midpoint of Daniel’s Week as the Two Witnesses are killed.
But that when the days come when the trumpet call of the seventh angel is about to be sounded, then God’s mystery (His secret design, His hidden purpose), as He had announced the glad tidings to His servants the prophets, should be fulfilled (accomplished, completed). (Revelation 10:7 AMPC)
This verse is proof that God is still using prophets after the death of Jesus and will continue to use them until He returns. The Greek word for mystery is mysterion and it means “a hidden or secret thing, not obvious to the understanding.” Only in His time, by His Spirit, can we understand certain events in scripture. It isn’t necessary or even possible to understand all of what is written in Revelation until God reveals it or possibly while it is happening.
We can examine many of the prophecies in this book and say “perhaps it means” this or that, but in many cases it will be a “theory” until God brings the truth. If our theory differs from yours, I hope you can agree to disagree until God’s truth comes.
A trumpet heralds something coming, in this case, it is the wrath of God. As we look at the trumpets, we need to remember that these are “mysteries” of God.
1st & 2nd Trumpet
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood and they were cast on the Earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up. (Revelation 8:7 AKJV)
The first trumpet releases something from Heaven that physically impacts the Earth. We know this because there are physical consequences. In whatever way this appears, we will recognize the after-effect.
One-third of the trees are burned
All the grass is destroyed
This could happen suddenly or over the course of time
Examining the second trumpet may help us further pinpoint what this trumpet may be and when it may occur.
2nd Trumpet
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. (Revelation 8:8-9 AKJV)
A “great mountain burning with fire cast into the sea” is a meteor hitting the Earth because once again, we see the effects the Earth receives physical consequences after the blowing of this trumpet.
One-third of the sea life dies
One-third of all ships are destroyed
Scientists theorize that an impact of an asteroid in the ocean would cause a brief f “algae bloom” in the ocean. The effect of red algae in water makes it look like blood. If we re-examine the first trumpet in light of this one, the “hail and fire mingled with blood” could be small meteorites that hit the land before the large one hits the ocean. We may have a date for this trumpet.
Apophis is a near-Earth asteroid about 450 meters by 170 meters. This is not a “planet-killing” asteroid, but it would wreak some havoc on the Earth! When it was discovered in 2004, initial observations indicated a probability that it may hit Earth on Friday, 13 April 2029. NASA did some additional calculations and said that it would miss the Earth and immediately began the DART project. In 2022 the DART system used a satellite to change the path of a meteor and sent shards of that meteor toward the Earth.
If the government said an asteroid would hit the Earth, mass panic would undoubtedly ensue. Apophis could hit the Earth in 2029, or according to scientists, there is a possibility that, during its 2029 close encounter with Earth, Apophis could pass through a “gravitational keyhole” which would set up a future impact exactly seven years later on Easter Sunday, April 13, 2036.
Using these dates, let’s look at the worst-case scenario:
The temple is built in late 2028 to early 2029. The trumpets begin sounding in as the two witnesses are testifying.
I feel this is most unlikely because how can the two witnesses be doing their job and the whole world hate them if the Earth is in the total chaos that would ensue after an asteroid hits? Also, the sixth Seal includes this:
And the kings of the Earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Revelation 6:15-17 AKJV)
How can the offerings take place in the temple and the two be witnessing if everyone is hiding in caves? This scenario is impossible, so we know that cannot happen because the entire prophecy needs to come true.
If the Temple is built in 2029-2031 the final seals may break at the beginning of Daniel’s Week, then Apophis hits in 2036. This allows the asteroid to hit in the second half of Daniel’s Week.
This is only one option, only God knows and perhaps the timing depends on the hearts of man. His ways are higher than our ways, but we can see that the time may be close!
If the temple is built by November of 2025…. Well, we have another option to consider.
The last two trumpets could occur anywhere in the first half of Daniel’s Week, even right at the end when the Two Witnesses are killed. The first two trumpets could then happen at the start of the second half of Daniel’s Week with Apophis hitting the Earth in 2029.
How sure are we sure that these first two trumpets are really asteroids? Let’s look at the next two trumpets to confirm our interpretation.
3rd Trumpet
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from Heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell on the third part of the rivers, and on the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. (Revelation 8:10-11 AKJV)
Going back to the original language will help us understand these scriptures:
Star: aster - the same word defined elsewhere as an angel. (Revelation 1:20) In Biblical times, stars were up in the Heavens and man didn’t understand what they were - they were unreachable.
Burning: kaio - the writer of this book also used this word to describe John the Baptist; a light to show the way. (John 5:35)
Lamp: lampas - implied to mean one fed by oil. This same word is used to speak in the parable of the ten virgins where the oil was the Holy Spirit.
Fell: pipto - to descend from a higher place to a lower. Used with aster to describe Satan and his minions being kicked out of Heaven. (Revelation 1:20)
Wormwood: apsinthion - at the time this was written, wormwood was a bitter, poisonous herb, a lot like hemlock.
By looking at the original language, we can see that Wormwood is used as the name and the job of an angel which carries an anointing from God to cause great harm. The Angel of Death killed all the firstborn in Egypt, and here we see another angel with a horrific name. The effects seen are:
One-third of all rivers and springs become “bitter” or poisonous
We may not know exactly what happens however, there are a few possibilities that come to mind.
If several nuclear power plants melt down like Chornobyl, the fallout may turn many waters poisonous. The radiation would have no taste and could kill many people.
Scientists theorize what the meteor that hit the ocean in the prior trumpet will do: The impact will vaporize ocean water creating “acid rain” which could poison rivers and springs.
Both of these could be caused by asteroids hitting the land a sea. Besides these options, God may do something completely unexpected and supernatural. The only fact is that one-third of all rivers and springs will be poisoned.
4th Trumpet
And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. (Revelation 8:12 AKJV)
When the sun, moon, and stars are darkened, it indicates debris in the atmosphere from the prior trumpets. There is a definite pattern here. One-third of the oceans, fish, boats, and now much of the sky is lost or destroyed because one-third of the sun is blocked. There is a consistent area affected by these trumpets, not the entire world, but a part of it. Without sunlight on one-third of the Earth, food production will be greatly affected. There will be much hardship from this trumpet.
Science and the Bible
Looking at all four of these trumpets together and applying science to what we have seen happen thus far, we may be able to discern what may take place:
1st Trumpet: “hail, fire, mingled with blood” hits the Earth.
Small meteorites hit the Earth.
This would cause a tremendous heat wave.
All the grass and one-third of the trees were burned up.
One-third represents the area where the meteorites impact the Earth will lose their trees.
Fire creates pollution.
Pollution impacts the ozone layer around the Earth which protects us from UV rays.
2nd Trumpet: a huge meteor the size of a mountain will strike the ocean
Chains of tsunamis and crustal shifting
According to Nick Strobel from the Astronomy Department at Bakersfield College, the following will occur if a meteorite lands in the sea:
heat from the shock wave of the entering asteroid and reprocessing of the air close to the impact produces nitric and nitrous acids over the next few months to one year
This means that acid rain is created.
3rd Trumpet: one-third of all rivers and springs are poisoned
by the acid rain
4th Trumpet: One-third of the sun and moon blocked out.
Nick’s website states: “The ozone layer will be destroyed by O3 reacting with NO… All of the dust in the air from the impact and soot from the fires will block the sun...”
How incredible is that! 2000 years ago a prophecy was given that lays out the steps of what science says will occur if asteroids hit the land and sea! Because knowledge has multiplied and we can what the effects are linked to, we now know that trumpets one through four must occur within one year of each other. Trumpets three and four are a chain reaction of trumpets one and two. We can now place trumpets one through four in a tight group after the seventh seal.
The final three trumpets are known as the “three woes” and will be addressed in the next revelation meeting. These three trumpets will show us why the trumpets must happen in the second half of Daniel’s Week!
What can you do to prepare for the coming Tribulation? When the seven-year peace treaty is signed, and a Temple in Jerusalem is being constructed, how will you prepare for what is to come? Let’s look at what God says to one of the churches in the prophecy that is the Book of Revelation:
“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, ‘I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing,’ not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. (Revelation 3:15-17 ESV)
So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead). (James 2:17 AMPC)
Jesus started addressing this church about the “works” which were lukewarm. Salvation does not come through works, but once we understand what Jesus has done for us we should want to work for Him! The words “spit from my mouth” are translated in other versions as “vomit” or “spew.” It means to reject with extreme disgust. Christians who think they have it all together and don’t really “need” God for anything couldn’t be more wrong! Jesus is disgusted with their attitude.
Your first reaction may be, “This couldn’t possibly mean me!” Consider what this means.
Wretched: means enduring toils and troubles, afflicted. Are you battling sickness?
Pitiable: means miserable, feeling unsatisfied. Are you emotionally afflicted? Always looking for something new to fill a hole inside?
Poor: This is poor in spiritual ways. Do you operate in the fruit of the Spirit? The gifts of the Spirit? If you don’t even know what these are, then this is YOU!
Blind: means mentally dull, unable to hold onto understanding or even receive enlightenment from God!
Naked: this means without a garment of righteousness earned through good deeds.
If ANY of these apply to your life, here is what your Lord says:
I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.
Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and He with me. The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. (Revelation 3:18-21 ESV)
The afflictions mentioned in the prior verses are because Jesus loves you. He allows afflictions so that you will go to God for help! Jesus is ready to come into your life and be a part of it: that is what it means to come in and eat with you. Do you hear Him knocking on your heart? If so, it is time to “buy” what you need so that He will come in to you.
How do we “buy” things of God when our Lord tells us that “freely you have received, freely give?” There are two ways we buy the things of God.
We buy things of God with offerings to those who Teach.
The rest of the freely give scripture goes like this:
And do not take a provision bag or a wallet for a collection bag for your journey, nor two undergarments, nor sandals, nor a staff; for the workman deserves his support (his living, his food). (Matthew 10:10 AMPC)
Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:6-8 ESV)
Everything that comes from God must be freely given, just like salvation, we don’t pay to receive it. However, if we receive something of spiritual value, we should give back. This is purchasing the items we are missing!
We buy things of God with our time.
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; (Isaiah 55:1-3 ESV)
You “buy” without money by searching for God and when you find His wisdom, you take time to listen! You are buying it with your time. Neither of these should be neglected because “as you sow, so shall you reap.” If you are only giving time and attention to God, and neglecting to support those you giving freely to you, He will consider that “mocking” His ways. Your understanding may be hindered!
Don’t wait! It will take time for you to learn and apply God’s ways to your life. It will take time to get free! The time to prepare is now. If we remain close to God and learn to hear from Him, then we will be ready.
Jesus fed thousands with a couple of fish and a loaf a bread
He turned water into wine
If we learn His ways now and learn to hear from Him, we will be ready for whatever happens. If we only have one year or even six months of food in our pantry, the Lord could use that to sustain our entire neighborhood for years! We can only receive miraculous provision when we are rightly aligned with the Lord. That is the primary survival preparation for every Christian.
